Python is a relatively easy and yet powerful language that is suitable for beginners. Before you think of building fancy looking web applications, let’s get the basics of programming.

You’ll need to install python. Go here and download python 2.x.x for your OS. For windows users, you will have to add the C:/Python2X, C:/Python2X/Scripts/ path to your PATH in environment variables. Check this article for details.
Choosing an IDE
IDE is an acronym for Integrated Development Environment. Usually, you’ll use an IDE like PyCharm but since we are now starting programming, we’ll use an editor instead. Something that doesn’t assist us too much so as to get better quickly. An editor cannot run the code we write, it’s just for writing the code. We can use notepad, notepad++, sublime. Choose whichever you want.
